America Dreams
AMERICA DREAMS
Dreams, they bring us to a place in our inner soul where we leave the outer world for a place of imaginary splendor, a place where we see visions, a place where we transpose ourselves to where we want to be.
Throughout the ages, dreams have been used as a method for healing, for guidance or divine inspiration. The Greeks, Native Americans and many other cultures have believed that dreams are a conduit to the soul, the essence of who we really are and connect us to our past, present and future.
Dreams are also part of our conscious state and are aspirational. We all dream about our futures, we dream for our children, we dream for peace.
My dream is to restore the earth to its natural harmonic state where all things, man, woman, flora, fauna, mammals, reptiles, birds and even insects are protected, nurtured and allowed to live in healthy relationship to each other.
Man has been traveling a path of destructive descent for eons. Greed, the lust for power, the quest for control and ownership has pitted one tribe against another, one culture against the other, one nation against their brothers.
Through avarice, we have desecrated our "Mother Earth" to whom we owe our very existence. We have taken the land and have stripped it of trees, dumped chemicals into rivers and oceans, exploited fertile earth turning it to dust and desert, blown apart mountains clawing at the coal inside, created atomic bombs that can destroy all human life.
We have turned a blind eye to our destructive ways as we continue to compete against each other, striving for power and we forget about who we really are, one family of people born of God.
My dream is that we think of ourselves as guardians of our "Mother Earth" that we find a way to move away from thoughtlessness to thoughtfulness.
The way we do this is one person at a time becoming more mindful of every breath we breathe, every thought we think, every word we say and every action we take. If we meditate on these thoughts we will find that peaceful place within ourselves that unites us to our spiritual center, the eternal point of light.
When we see this light, when we immerse ourselves in this light we become one with it. We realize and understand that all the lights are connected to one another throughout the universe. We are one eternal cellular structure and we are interdependent not independent of this source.
When we begin thinking in these terms, when our thoughts become pure, we will learn to become protectors of our earth, the peoples who live upon it and all living things. We have to stop merely taking from the earth and give something back to our "mother".
We can and must try and return the earth to its natural state. Governments must finally work together to reconstruct the planet for the sake of all the children. Scientists from around the world must work together to recreate the gift we have been given and so recklessly destroyed.
Waterways can be purified, the deserts we've created can become forests and fertile farmland, we can reintroduce species back into their native regions and try and restore the equilibrium that once existed.
This can only be accomplished if all peoples become conscious of the role they play on this earth and how they can and must make a difference to preserve it. This is our home!
I dream this dream when I close my eyes. I see peaceful, meandering rivers. I watch the foamy, white sea waves roaring to shore. I gaze at the spectacular peaks of our majestic mountains. I breathe in the pure sweet fresh air of the lake country where I was born. I feel the life forces when I walk in the forests and am protected by a canopy of the tall trees.
The dream is for all of us. The dream is for our planet. The dream must become a reality. If we all dream it, it will be.
