See Africa Differently
I have had the privilege of visiting Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. I've been very impressed by the many successful CARE projects that address the enormous need for food security, clean water, AIDS treatment and education. Still, when I think of Africa, I am overwhelmed with sadness. All I see are the hungry children, cruel wars, and failed states.
But it's not all doom and gloom. This site, www.seeafricadifferently.com, acknowledges the extreme hardship, then shifts the focus entirely.
Did you know that in the last five years, 29 million more African children are in school?
Across Africa, 30% of people living with HIV who need treatment are receiving ARVs. Five years ago that figure was 1%.
Ten million more people have access to safe drinking water in South Africa since 1994.

How do we make these kinds of efforts more visible?
I love efforts like this. How can we make media entrepreneurs like this more visible?
