Kim Spencer is President of Link TV, the independent non-commercial network devoted to global affairs, available in 42 million U.S. homes and worldwide on the Internet. A producer of more the 60 documentaries and current affairs programs, Spencer pioneered international satellite "spacebridges" and was a co-founder in 1982 of Internews Network, the organization that supports independent media in 70 countries. Co-productions of many spacebridges with Russian producers in the 1980's led to Capital to Capital, the historic series of live TV debates on ABC and Gosteleradio between the U.S. Congress and the USSR Supreme Soviet (winning two Emmy Awards in 1989). Spencer then became coordinating producer of ABC News Prime Time Live, producing reports from Cambodia, Africa and Russia. In France in 1992, Spencer worked with Patrice Barrat to develop the innovative Vis à Vis series: transcontinental video dialogues linking people ‘face to face' from their homes and workplaces. In 1999 he co-founded Link TV, based in San Francisco and New York. Spencer is Executive Producer of Link's original productions, including Global Pulse, Bridge to Iran and the Peabody-Award winning daily news program Mosaic: World News from the Middle East
